Objective Zero-Waste
Each ingredient we use has been carefully selected and is produced in South Africa, with minimal processing.
We, in turn, process these ingredients as lightly as possible when creating our products.
We are also intentional in our packaging choices.
From resource extraction and energy consumption to recycling and minimising waste, we have given much thought to the impact we are having throughout our products’ life cycle.
Care Instructions
Please avoid waste: look after your products.
All our products are best stored in a cool, dark, dry, clean environment, with a clear label.
We also encourage you to wash your hands before using our Olive & Honey Balm: this will limit contamination of the product from dirt on your fingers and extend its life.
About Packaging
With the current exception of the small balm jars and the black pumps – our containers are locally-manufactured.
We also ensure that all our packaging is recyclable locally.
However, it still takes energy and resources to produce, transport, and recycle packaging; when they are recycled that is, we are unsure whether it is always the case.
That is why we selected containers that you can easily refill, or reuse for other purposes.
We also offer refill bags for our Washing Powder jars.
Please refill and/or clean and reuse packaging as much as you can.
In last resort, please recycle them.
Package-free Option
When we can open our workshop to the public you will be able to come and refill your containers of home hygiene products.
In the meantime – and for our skincare products, whose containers need to be carefully cleaned before being refilled – we encourage you to be “packaging-conscious” by offering a “refill” at a discounted price when you bring us your empties.
Leave your empty reusable containers at our local collection point* with a note clearly attached indicating your name, phone number, email, and a description of the container(s) returned: number, product(s) and size(s); and we will send you a discount voucher to be used on subsequent purchases.
Vouchers’ value:
R5 = 100ml emulsion bottle; 50ml balm jar
R10 = 500ml emulsion bottle; 100ml balm jar; 250ml balm jar; 1l vinegar jerrycan
R15 = 5l vinegar jerrycan; 5l soda ash bucket
NB: In order to warrant a voucher, the returned container must be in such condition that we are able to wash, refill and resell it.
